Good article and I followed your request to contact Sen. Boxer and Sen. Feinstein asking them to create a culture for change by addressing this issue.

Political corruption isn't just limited to our Representatives and Senators in Congress. Corruption seeps through our entire political system from the local school boards, township boards, city councils, county supervisors, state legislatures, and governors all the way up to and including the White House. Elected officials are not only owned by and beholden to their corporate contributors, they are also owned by and beholden to PACs, unions and other organizations, as well as individuals who buy and pay for their election. In addition, they must also remain loyal to the political party that helped them get elected, and that is spelled p-a-r-t-i-s-a-n-s-h-i-p.

The result is that the electorate is at the mercy of the political parties and the corporations, organizations and individuals who pay for the elected officials' campaigns. This will continue unless and until our corrupt political system undergoes a radical change.
